Bassdozer's Heavy Duty Chartreuse White Spinnerbaits for Bass
and Pike
Who knows why chartreuse white spinnerbaits work so well, but
they do. If you had to limit yourself to only one spinnerbait
color to throw, this is "the" number one most popular
and productive spinnerbait color in history. Works equally well
in clear, stained and muddy water. Several of the sport's top
celebrity anglers have helped make their legendary careers by
throwing chartreuse white spinnerbaits. Indeed, every angler
would be smart to throw one regularly.
Although there's nothing natural that's half hot chartreuse,
half bright white, fish like it. With nickel and gold blades, it
helps create a certain comfort level. We can say they flash like
shad or minnows. But chartreuse white blades? Now that's outside
our ordinary comfort zone. It has no resemblance to any baitfish
we've seen before. As bogus and unnatural as chartreuse white
spinnerbaits with chartreuse white blades may seem to us, get
used to throwing them. Especially when the wind comes up in
smallmouth country, there may be no better fish attractor. Who
knows what it resembles, but smallmouth are attracted to this
gaudy display. Spotted bass and largemouth will smack it down
just as eagerly as smallmouth when the wind is up - and even when
it isn't. Chartreuse white spinnerbaits are always worth a try.
These spinnerbaits have:
- Heavy duty .040 diameter twisted closed wrapped wire eyes.
- Premium 6/0 Mustad UltraPoint heavy duty, long shank hooks
(5/0 in 3/4 oz)
- Premium Worth ball bearing swivels.
All the spinnerbaits below have heavy
duty closed wrapped loop eyes on .040 diameter wire arms.
This provides better strength and security for landing any lunker
largemouth that latch onto one of these spinnerbaits. Because the
wire loop is wrapped closed, the line can't slide up the arm and
force the swivel end loop open as can happen with an open R-bend
eye. The closed wrapped eye does not wear out and break as easily
as an open R-bend wire. Especially with big bass, you really need
to be using a closed wrapped .040 wire arm for trophy bass.
They're also perfect for pike fishing in the USA, Canada,
Europe and Russia. The twisted closed wrapped eyes are
perfect for pike since the closed eyes permit use of wire
leaders.
Make no mistake, these are heavy duty spinnerbaits for the
biggest trophy bass and pike on the planet.
Chartreuse White Two-Tone Laminated Blades. One side of
each blade is painted white. The other side of each blade is
painted chartreuse. The two different color sides blink on and
off as they rotate, chartreuse-white-chartreuse-white-
chartreuse-white. This causes lots of color flutter and color
flicker that's not possible with a solid white or solid
chartreuse blade. Blades are nickel-plated beneath the paint.
At first you may think both colors should appear equally
visible, but that's not the case. Whatever color is on the
outside (convex surface) is going to be the most visible, about
70% of the visible color will appear to be what's on the outside
as the blade rotates. Whatever color is on the inside (concave
surface) is going to be the least visible, about 30% of the color
will appear to be what's on the inside as the blade rotates.

Super Heavy Duty Spinnerbaits for Big Bass
These next two are the ones you want for the
biggest bass in the baddest cover.
1/2 oz with .045 Super Wire Arm
They weigh only 1/2 oz but they have huge 6/0 long shank
hooks. The 6/0 Mustad Ultra Point is the biggest, longest,
strongest stock spinnerbait hook on the market. It's positively
what you need for the biggest bass out there.
They also sport super heavy duty .045 Super Wire arms.
First, the arm is Super Wire, which is stronger and vibrates more
than ordinary spinnerbait wire. Second, it is .045 diameter, and
that's thicker diameter than normally seen on bass spinnerbaits.
It's rare to find thicker than .040 wire on bass spinnerbaits -
but these next two spinnerbaits have .045 Super Wire for the
biggest bass in the baddest cover.

Great Flash Plus Two-Tone Color. The back blade on the
spinnerbait above is unpainted nickel plated. Front blade is
painted white outside, chartreuse inside. This gives you both
flash and great blade color in the same spinnerbait presentation.

Willow / Indiana Blades. It's rare to see this pair of
blades, but it is one of the best blade combinations I use. This
pair has three fantastic things that put it over the top:
- The blades have concordance or appear to act the same as each
other, meaning they rotate and flash tightly in synch with each
other
- The particular pairing appears to emit a bright, active
flash. The whole effect in terms of flash, is much more than
either blade alone (or when used in other blade pairs).
- The pair appears to have fast action together. I do not mean
to reel them fast, but that they appear to be revolving quite
fast together. I do not know how else to describe this blade
pair, except to say you've got to see it for yourself. It's a
real producer for me, and can be for you too.
