Gambler Florida Rig Weight
The
Florida Rig weight that has a thin Teflon tube you thread your
line through, and a wire corkscrew that holds the weight against
the head of a plastic bait. This keeps the plastic and weight
together in thick cover. You rig a big, strong extra wide gap
hook into the bait about 2" down from the weight. You really
can't Florida rig a short bait. The 2" space is critical. It
gives you a little room to still set the hook even if a big bass
has clamped down tightly on the weight itself. Without any
distance between the weight and the hook, you would just pull the
whole bass forward and you could never set the hook if it's
jammed snug against the weight clamped inside a fish's mouth. But
because of the sliding Teflon tube and the 2" distance, the
hook will still set even with a fish clamped down on it!

Strike King Pro-Model Tube Rattle
This
rattle fits inside most brands/models of hollow tubes like our Strike
King KVD or Yamamoto tubes. Insert a rattle up inside
the nose of a tube. Then Texas rig an offset hook so that the
bent neck of the hook sits securely nestled inside the rattle's
eye. On light lines and for spooky shallow water fish, the rattle
itself provides all the weight needed to get a tantalizing,
unpredictable, lifelike fall. When it reaches the bottom, let it
rest there quietly for a while, then shake it ever so gently with
your rod tip...without moving the tube forward...rattle,
rattle...BANG! In deeper water and heavier cover, peg a bullet
weight on the line first. With other types of soft plastics
(lizards, grubs, etc.), slip the rattle over a wide round bend
like our Owner Rig'N Hook before you bury the point back
into the bait. The rattle swings freely on the round bend under
the bait's belly where it can't interfere with the hook set.

The

flipping our Strike
King Flip-N-Tube into heavy cover with heavy gear,
just as you would flip a jig 'n pig. A 4/0 is fine on the

longer: 1/0 for 3", 2/0 for 4", 3/0 for 5", etc.
