Plastic Lip Minnows
These are brand new in box heavy duty saltwater plugs. There
are two sizes.
- BD 7 Plastic Lip Minnow.
1-3/8 oz. 7" Body. Floating. Dives 1-3 ft. Mustad 3/0
saltwater 3X strong hooks.
- BD 5 Plastic Lip Minnow.
1/2 oz. 5-1/4" Body. Floating. Dives 1-3 ft. Mustad #2
saltwater 3X strong hooks.
These lures arrived on the scene say ten years ago. In that
relatively short time, they have quickly gained a fish-catching
reputation. They are marketed under a couple of nationally-known
brand names. The main difference is the name on the box.
Otherwise, the plugs are the same as these BD
Plastic Lip Minnows.
They are among the most popular plastic lip minnows today.
Many of the old salts (myself included) who used all the old
discontinued plastic lips plus the ones still currently
available, most will not hesitate to tell you that these BD
Plastic Lip Minnows rank right up there with the best of the
plastic lips.
These plastic lip minnows are made in America. Many other
plastic lip minnows, even some branded by American companies,
aren't made here.
The diving lips are integrated into and part of the bodies. So
the lips cannot loosen or break off.
The internal chambers of the lure have ball bearings that
rattle noisily on the retrieve and the sound resonates in the
chamber. This internal weight system also shifts to the
rear of the bait during the cast to make for smooth, long and
accurate casts.
The colors here are productive colors for striped bass - and
also hard colors to find elsewhere.
A sample of each color can
be viewed here. Some colors are holographic which refract or
separate sunlight (or any ambient light) into the full spectrum
of many individual colors. The colors being refracted constantly
change and flash as the lure moves through the water. The
holographic colors reflect the present water and light conditions
and also provide the illusion of an excited baitfish that is
"flushing" and emitting color signals. The holographic
finish is imprinted directly onto the lure. It is not a separate
film or foil layer (except in the case of the BD
7 Rainbow color, it is a film) taped onto the lure.
The standard paint colors and the holographic finishes will not
chip, scrape or peel off easily. All paint colors and holographic
finishes are very durable.
